Our Export Process: From Farm to Global Market
Harma Exploits Limited ensures a seamless, transparent, and high-quality supply chain. We manage every step to guarantee that the aroma and integrity of our produce remain intact until they reach your doorstep.
1. Ethical Sourcing & Digital Enrollment
The process begins with our network of 3,000+ farmers.
- SurveyCTO Tracking: Every farmer is digitally registered using GPS mapping.
- Maturity Monitoring: We ensure vanilla is harvested only at full maturity (9 months) to guarantee maximum vanillin content (1.5%–3%).
- Fair Trade Principles: We buy directly from the farm gate, ensuring farmers receive a fair price and that child labor monitoring systems are active.
2. Traditional Curing & Processing
Once harvested, the produce is moved to our purpose-built facilities in Uganda.
- Vanilla Curing: We use the traditional Bourbon Method—a cycle of killing, sweating, and slow sun-drying that takes several months to develop the signature chocolatey aroma.
- Cocoa & Coffee Fermentation: Cocoa beans undergo a 6-day controlled fermentation followed by sun-drying on raised racks to prevent soil contamination.
- Quality Sorting: Products are hand-sorted by grade (Gourmet, TK, or Extraction) to meet your specific technical requirements.
3. Quality Assurance & Lab Testing
Before any batch leaves our facility, it undergoes a final check:
- Physical Inspection: Checking for moisture content (30-35% for Gourmet Vanilla), bean length, and suppleness.
- Sanitation: Products are handled under strict hygiene standards in a pesticide-free environment.
- Certifications: We ensure all batches comply with international standards for organic and natural produce.
4. Vacuum Packaging & Logistics
To preserve the moisture and aroma during transit, we use professional-grade export packaging:
- Vacuum Sealing: Vanilla beans are vacuum-packed in food-grade bags to prevent drying or mold.
- Bulk Cocoa/Coffee: Packed in high-quality gunny bags or GrainPro liners for freshness.
- Global Shipping: We offer air freight (for vanilla) and sea freight (for cocoa/coffee) from Entebbe or Mombasa. We handle all export documentation, phytosanitary certificates, and customs clearance.
