Whole Black Beans (Gourmet Grade): Deep black, supple, and oily. Length: 15cm–20cm+. Vanillin: 1.5% – 3%.

TK Grade Beans: Dark brown/black beans, slightly drier than Gourmet, ideal for high-end extraction.

Ugandan Cocoa: The Essence of the Tropics

Our cocoa production is rooted in the rainy, tropical regions of Uganda, where the Theobroma cacao tree thrives under a canopy of indigenous trees. At Harma Exploits, we treat cocoa with the same precision as our gourmet vanilla.

  • Varieties & Sourcing: We source high-quality beans from the fertile soils of the Pearl of Africa, harvested during our primary seasons (August–January and March–June).
  • The Curing Process: To unlock the deep, chocolatey notes required by international chocolatiers, our beans undergo a strict 6-day fermentation process followed by traditional sun-drying on raised racks.
  • Quality Specs: 100% natural, ethically sourced, and thoroughly cleaned to meet global export moisture and purity standards.

Ugandan Coffee: Heritage in Every Bean

Uganda is the birthplace of Robusta and a premier producer of high-altitude Arabica. Harma Exploits brings you the best of both worlds, grown in harmony with the environment.

  • The Integrated Model: Our coffee is unique because it is grown in integrated bee-friendly farms. By keeping bees on our coffee farms, we increase pollination rates, resulting in higher yields and more uniform bean sizes.
  • Arabica & Robusta: * Arabica: Grown on the slopes of Mt. Elgon and the Rwenzori mountains, offering a bright, complex acidity.
    • Robusta: Sourced from the Lake Victoria basin, known for its rich crema and bold, earthy body.
  • Sustainability: Every bag of Harma coffee supports our mission to provide sustainable incomes for our network of 3,000+ smallholder farmers.

Cassava: Sustaining Communities & Food Security

While Harma Exploits is a leader in high-value exports, our heart lies in the resilience of our 3,000+ smallholder farmers. In Uganda, Cassava is more than a crop—it is the backbone of rural food security.

Why We Integrate Cassava into Our Supply Chain:

  • Climate Resilience: Cassava is a drought-tolerant crop. By encouraging its cultivation alongside Vanilla and Cocoa, we ensure our farmers have a reliable food source even during unpredictable weather patterns.
  • The “Integrated Farming” Model: We promote a multi-crop system where Cassava provides ground cover and dietary stability, allowing farmers to focus on the meticulous care required for Gourmet Vanilla.
  • Pesticide-Free Standards: Following the same strict organic principles as our Vanilla, our Cassava is grown naturally, without synthetic fertilizers, maintaining the soil health of the Rubirizi and Masaka regions.
